Government Period Contract Tenders

The Ultrasound and Vascular Consumables divisions were involved in the congress. The Ultrasound division was involved in 2 workshops which they ran. One was based on regional blocks, where both the Samsung Edge and a Nanomaxx were used. The other workshops was for FATE where many Samsung H60s were placed and used at the Netcare Emergency Departments. Our Bloemfontein Regional Manager, Jannie Coetzee, assisted at this station and reported that Drs were impressed with the performance of the system.

The SSEM Mthembu Medical Academic Prize was awarded to Dr. Eugene Kelly from Charlotte Maxele Johannesburg General Hospital who was awarded for the Best Original Research Free Paper on "Vitamin D Levels of Anaesthetists" in the Department of Anaesthesiology at the University of Witwatersrand.

Well done to Dr Eugen Kelly
