History
Specialised Systems Electro Medical (SSEM) was formed in 1987, with a focus on the electrophysiology and respiratory markets. By the year 2000, after SSEM had expanded its product base to include ultrasound imaging and medical consumable products, the company’s position as a leader in Sub-Saharan Africa was firmly established. In the same year, SSEM contracted Mthembu Medical (Pty) Ltd to manage its warehouse, logistics and technical support requirements nationally.
